Apply In-Person

  1. To purchase the Sugar Company of Jamaica Holdings (SCJH) limited land by either lease or sale, in terms of an Unsolicited Expressions of Interest i.e., not in terms of advertised property by the SCJH, you can submit your complete application to the SCJH’s office for processing, please view their contact details via this link:Link
  2. First,ensure that you have a project plan or concept document prepared from which to extract the information you will need to include as a part of your application
  3. Once you have identified a property that you are interested in, write an unsolicited expression of interest (EOI) addressed to the SCJH Chief Executive Officer clearly stating the following:
    • The purpose of using the land
    • The details of the person/s submitting the request
    • A buying offer for the land
  4. Submit your EOI to the SCJH’s office in person or you can send it via their email address to the address provided in the “Office Locations and Contacts” section below
  5. Upon receiving your application, the SCJH will verify your application and send you feedback outlining the next steps to be taken regarding your application
  6. The SCJH will review your application by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC)to ascertain the land value
  7. Then after the UDC valuation, the SCJH will advertise the property and conduct a competitive bidding or tender exercise on the property and you will be required to submit a proposal in keeping with the advertisement
  8. Then the SCJH will issue an award based on the bidding and then negotiate an offer of purchase with you
  9. Once SCJH accepts your final offer, they will forward it to the relevant ministry for ministerial approval
  10. If approved and the SCJH is satisfied with your application, they will issue you an agreement of sale or lease of the property and you will need to visit their office to collect your copy of the final executed agreement
