Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Book an appointment

   (i) Applicant should visit the ONECI website portal, (link below ) then click on “click here “ on the page to schedule an appointment with the VFS Global Appointment

   (ii) You will be redirected to VFS Global website page.Login if you have an account, if you don’t have an account, click on “New user” to register an account.

   (iii) New user registration page will be displayed.Fill out all mandatory fields, captcha then click on “submit” tab.

   (iv) If the account registration is successful, you will be redirected to the next page, login to schedule the appointment.

   (v) Login by entering your email ,password then captcha the security details then click on “continue “tab

   (vi) Booking appointment page will then be displayed, select “schedule Appointment “under actions, Fill out all mandatory fields, then click on “continue” tab

   (vii) Summary details page will be displayed, verify all the information are in order then click on “submit” tab.

   (viii) Take a Print out of your appointment confirmation letter, which is to be presented at the main entrance gate of the Application Centre.

   (ix) Alternative you can call the Resident Card Application center(+225)20004876 and book an appointment.

2. Visit the Resident Card Application center

   (i) Applicants are advised to arrive at the Resident Card Application center about 15 minutes before the time of your appointment to go through security checks.

   (ii) You will be issued with a token number at the entrance.

   (iii) Express your interest at the service desk, you will be issued with an application form, read careful through it and fill it accurately.

   (iv) Sit and wait at the waiting area for your token number to be called.

   (v) Submit the completed application form along with the supporting documents (listed below) to theVFS officer for verification.

   (vi) If the VFS official is satisfied that all the documents are in order, your application will be accepted for filing.

   (vii) If the content of your application does not match with the list of documents (missing documents), your application will not be accepted, leave the Application Centre to complete your application, and return another day, after booking another appointment.

   (viii) Make payment of the service fees at the cash counter and you will be required to state verbal the method you wish to retrieve you’re the resident card if approved at an additional cost (Optional service fees) check under fees for more information.

   (ix) After paying the service fees, you proceed to the biometric booths. Your picture will be taken, and your fingerprints will be collected.

   (x) After the submission of the application at the VFS, it will be forwarded to the National Identification Office (N.I.O.) for processing and decision making.

3. Collect your resident card

   (i) If your application is approved, you will be notified of the outcome via the notification method you had opt for i.e. via email or SMS on the cell phone number you had provided.

   (ii) Visit the VFS office to claim your card, either in person or through a representative with the following documents.

   (a) A proof of identification;

   (b) The payment receipt handed over by the Centre on the submission day.

   (c) A letter of authorization signed by the applicant ( in case of representative )

   (iii) If you have opted for the return of your resident card by courier service, your resident card will be sent to you, via the postal address you had provided.

Required Documents

GENERAL DOCUMENT

1. A copy of the bio-data page of the passport or consular card
2. A copy of valid visa
3. A copy of the entry stamp
4. A birth certificate or any other document in place tenant
5. An extract from the criminal record or any document held by the tenant(Original)
6. The original of the residence certificate of less than 06 months
7. The appointment confirmation letter
8. Prescribe application fees

Attach to the documents cited above, as the case may be, the following documents:

1. The original work certificate for workers
2. The attestation of religious life for religious
3. A copy of the commercial register for the Merchants
4. A certificate of tax regularity for traders
5. An administrative certificate for Cooperates of French nationality
6. For retirees, a retirement pension bulletin.

For children under the age of sixteen (16)

1. Parental authorization (to be legalized at the town hall of the place of residence) of the parent exercising the paternal authority or, failing that, of the legal guardian
2. A certificate of attendance or School card or Student card of the year academic in progress (for pupils and students)
3. A copy of the father's or mother's or tutor's work certificate
4. A copy of the commercial register of the father or the mother or the tutor (if merchant)
5. A copy of the father's, mother's or guardian's tax regularity certificate (if trader)
6. A copy of the valid resident card of the father or mother or guardian (if foreign)

For a spouse in care

1. A copy of the spouse's work certificate
2. A copy of the spouse's business register (if merchant)
3. A copy of the spouse's tax regularity certificate (if merchant)
4. A copy of the spouse's valid resident card (if foreign).
