Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Applicant should gather all the supporting documents (listed below) and visit the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development department of Pesticides office.
2. Collect the application form from the license desk and fill it accurately.
3. Submit the completed form along with the supporting documents (listed below) for verification and processing.
4. Pay the licence fee at the in-house bank, upon which you will be issued with a receipt.
5. If the pesticide committee are satisfied that all the conditions for filling the application are met you will be notified of the outcome within 2 months and issued with the licence.

Required Documents

1. Request for Reseller and / or Applicator approval addressed to the Minister of Agriculture
2. Photocopy of the CROPLIFE CI or MINADER training diploma. (Present the original of the diploma when submitting the file to the Pesticides Committee Secretariat)
3. Signed commitment to comply with the phytosanitary regulations in force in Côte d'Ivoire. (To Legalize)
4. Signed commitment to respect the necessary security and protection systems. (To Legalize)
5. Photocopy of the commercial register
6. Taxpayer account number or synthetic tax or Town hall registration number
7. Commitment for medical monitoring of staff (on the letterhead of the company of the signatory doctor) signed by a doctor
8. Attach the photocopy of the card of the National Order of Doctors for the current year or the photocopy of the Certificate of registration to the order of doctors signed by the President of the Order of Doctors
9. List of approved phytosanitary products for sale (Trade name, Product function, Product distributor)
10. List and number of personnel safety and protection equipment (Gloves, Muffler, Wetsuit, Boot, Glasses, etc.)
11. List of phytosanitary products and treatment materials to be used (For Applicators)
12. Photocopy of the identity card of the Head of the company
13. Photocopy of the Technical Agent's identity card
14. Legalized contract between the Technical Agent and the Head of the company

• Individuals and companies/business who wish to deal with pesticide can apply.

Fees

• Licences fees 50,000 FCFA

Validity

• The licence is valid for 5 years

Processing Time

   • Full name, address, age and qualification of persons who will be in personal control of premises to be licensed.
   • List class (es) of pesticide (s) you propose to handle under this license? e.g. herbicides
   • Describe the premises at which the activity will be undertaken, including details of security precautions, adjacent land use, size, type of structure etc.
   • Describe the storage and/ or display facilities for the above-named pesticides.
   • Describe any other types of goods which will be stored or displayed on the same premises
   • Describe safety precautions to be taken for protection of persons and public
   • What disposal options do you have in place for used and/or empty containers

3. DECLARATION BY THE APPLICANT

Need for the Document

• The pesticide committee who’s mandate enforce, implement and regulate pesticide distribution, sale and production in Ivory Coast by issuing licence.
• The aim of these is to maintain the integrity of the product for their intended purpose and avoid misleading the general public.
• No person/entity should produce, manufacture, supply, distribute or sell to the general public any pesticide product that has not yet being tested, approved, registered and licenced by the ministry.
