Procedure

1. The Business Licensing Authority will send referrals to the licensing authorities, in order to receive their opinion regarding the license renewal.
2. If the said inquiry will result to a negative evaluation from one of the licensing authorities, the Business Licensing Authority will notify the business owner that the business license will not be renewed due to the reasons specified, and that they must correct the deficiencies listed as soon as possible in order to have the renewal approved.
3. If all required authorities approve the renewal - a renewed license will be issued for the business.
4. If one or more of the authorities decides to grant a temporary license (and no other authority has suspended the renewal), or if one or more of the authorities does not issue its opinion within the time period required by law, a temporary permit will be issued, whose period of validity will be set as the shortest period specified by one or more of the licensing authorities, as required by law. Note: The temporary permit period will be considered as part of the license period.
5. If one or more of the authorities rejects the renewal, the business owner will be sent a letter from Business Licensing Authority, notifying that the business license will not be renewed.
6. Payments are to be made after all additional authorities (both intra-municipal and extra-municipal) have authorized the renewal, and the Business Licensing Authority has sent the business owner a notice of the renewal, along with a voucher for payment of the associated fee.
7. Renewal denied: Business owners are given the chance to file an appeal with the authority that rejected their application by means of an administrative appeal, or alternatively by appealing the rejecting authoritys decision through the Business Licensing Authority within 30 days of receiving the rejection letter.

Fees

Business license renewal fee: 302 NIS (for one licensing entity)

Note: The fee for a business license application is current as of April 2010, and may change from time to time

Payments are to be made after all additional authorities (both intra-municipal and extra-municipal) have authorized the renewal, and the Business Licensing Authority has sent the business owner a notice of the renewal, along with a voucher for payment of the associated fee.

Validity

The validity of a business license is determined based on the type of entity requiring a license.

Note: Licenses are not valid until the required fee is paid. As mentioned above, licenses will not be issued to business owners who have outstanding debts.

Instructions

Before your business license expires, the Business Licensing Authority will send referrals to the various licensing bodies, asking for their opinion whether the license should be renewed, or notify the business owner and the Authority of conditions and requirements that must be met before granting authorization of the license renewal.

Note: Licenses for business owners who still have outstanding debts from previous licenses will not be renewed.
