EligibilityEdit
Issuance of Exchange Agreement Employment Permits apply to those employed in the State under prescribed agreements, for example, the Fulbright Program for researchers and academics.
FeesEdit
There is no processing fee for an Exchange Agreement Employment Permit.
ValidityEdit
Exchange Agreement Employment Permits may be issued for differing periods up to a maximum of two years, depending on the type of exchange agreement.

Employment Permits are issued by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
Who may apply for the permit: Either the foreign national or the employer may apply for an Exchange Agreement Employment Permit and the employment permit is issued to the foreign national, and a certified copy sent to the employer, which permits his or her employment in the State by the employer in the occupation and location specified on the permit.

In general, non-EEA nationals need to secure an employment permit to be able to work in Ireland. EEA and Swiss nationals do not need an employment permit.
Under the Employment Permits Acts 20032014 there are 9 types of employment permit one of which is Exchange Agreement Employment Permit.
Exchange Agreement Employment Permits are designed to facilitate the employment in the State of foreign nationals pursuant to prescribed agreements or other international agreements to which the State is a party.
