Procedure

1. To apply for learner driver license, visit your nearest NDLS centres which is in the following list : NDLS Office Locations
2. Please make sure you have filled in all the documents that are listed under "Required Documents" section of this page.
3. Also collect all the necessary required documents as listed underRequired Document section.
4. Please approach the NDLS centre with the Required Documents and with the required fees.
5. You will be taken through the steps that have to be completed for obtaining a driver license.

Alternatively, you could approach a driver license office in your town or city where you live, they should be able to help you with applying for driver license, but they will charge you for the servie.

Required Documents

• A fully completed NDLS Application Form for a Driving Licence D401
• A Certificate of competency / proof of passing your driving test. Issue date of this cert must be within two years of application date.
• Your current/most recent learner permit. If this has been lost / stolen or damaged please ensure the Garda Declaration on page 2 of the application form is completed. If your permit is unavailable you must present Photographic ID at the NDLS centre when applying
• Documentation to verify your PPSN
• A completed NDLS Medical report form if required in your case. More information : More info
• Evidence of address dated within the last 6 months is required where there has been any change in your address since your last application.
