Apply In-Person

  1. To File a Report of Excess Personal Property, the applicant has to approach the regional GSA Personal Property Management office link
    Note: The applicant can click on their respective state from the drop-down menu to find nearby office to them.
  2. The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the application form (incomplete application forms are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit the application form and the documents to the authority officer.
  7. The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.
  8. Once all the verification is done by the authority, the applicant receives a notification through mail.
  9. The processing time for this procedure is takes up to 15 – 30 days.

  1. To Report of Excess Personal Property online, the applicant has to make the application via GSAXcess portal link
  2. The applicant has to login with their user ID and password.
  3. If the applicant doesn’t have an account the applicant must contact National Utilization Officer (NUO) or GSA Area Property Officer for assistance. (The contact details were given in “Office Location and Contacts” section of this page).
  4. After logging in the applicant has to select the service of “Report of Excess Personal Property”.
  5. The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the application form.
  6. Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. Review the application and click submit.
  8. The authority will review the application and contact the applicant.
  9. Once all the verification is done by the authority, the applicant receives a notification through mail regarding the application.
  10. The processing time for this procedure is takes up to 15 – 30 days.

EligibilityEdit

  • Federal executive agencies are legally required to report excess personal property to GSA for screening and disposal. The legislative and judicial branches are encouraged to report their excess personal property to GSA.
  • Excess personal property includes property to which the government holds title but is in the custody of federal agencies’ contractors, cooperatives, or project grantees.
