Apply By Mail
- To File Bill of Costs (District Court), the applicant has to Mail the application to U.S District court link United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit link
- NOTE: Search by address, city, state or ZIP Code and click the “Location” button.
- The applicant has to download the form from the following link AND link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Any objection to the bill of costs must be filed within 14 days from the date of service of the bill of costs, unless the court extends the time.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the district court. The mailing address is given in “office location and contacts” section of this page.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- The processing time for this procedure is up to 7 – 14 days.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The process for payment of legal costs has been heard and concluded in court. A Bills of Costs case is filed for Taxation hearings before the Taxing Master (a Registrar in chambers). When the opposing party wishes to dispute the items in a Bill of Costs, a Notice of Dispute will be filed.
