Procedure

The applicant shall apply for Registration on the Web Based Application and shall also submit the same information in physical form with the Central agency.

Apply In-Person

1. Go to the central agency office for renewable energy.
2. Please consult for your requirement with the authority.
3. Obtain the application form.
4. Submit the completed application form along with required document and fees to the receiving authority.
5. The Central Agency shall undertake preliminary scrutiny to ensure Application Form is complete in all respect along with necessary documents and applicable registration fees and charges
6. If all are in place, the Central Agency shall assign a unique acknowledgement number to the Applicant. Keep it safe for future reference.
7. The Central Agency shall intimate in writing to the Applicant for submission of any further information, if necessary, to further consider the application for registration or reject application.
8. The Central Agency shall grant 'Certificate for Registration' to the concerned Applicant as 'Eligible Entity'.
9. The specific entity-wise and project-wise code number granted shall be used by such Applicant (Eligible Entities) for all future correspondence with the Central Agency.
10. The Central Agency shall also intimate registration of Eligible Entity for particular RE generation project to the following entities,
    1. The host State Agency
    2. The host State Load Despatch Center
    3. The Power Exchanges

Apply Online - India Renewable Energy Certificate Online with Images

1. Please go to the online portal: link
2. In the given page please select “RE Generators” under“Sign Up” on the right part of the screen.
3. In the given page please complete the screen prompts with appropriate details and hit “Submit” button at the bottom.
4. A new screen with RE Generator’s successful signup confirmation will be provided.
5. Come back to the home page. Select the login option button.
6. A login page will prompt user for login credential. Complete the credits as appropriate and hit “login” button.
7. A new screen will be provided. Please complete the session prompts as applicable for “Owner detail, Operator detail, Station detail, Connectivity…, Metering details, Clearance details, General details, Fees & Charges, Enclosures” one by one and hit “next” button at the bottom of each session.
8. In the resulting declaration session, please complete the page requirements and hit “Submit for Accreditation” button.
9. User will get a popup for confirmation. Please click “OK” button.
10. Applicant gets acknowledgement page. Please save it for future reference.
11. This application will be processed by the respective state agency.
12. Please look for the notification from the department and follow their guidelines to complete the registration process.

Eligibility

• A generating company engaged in generation of electricity from renewable energy sources shall be eligible to apply

Fees

A non-refundable registration fees/charges and annual fee/charges as determined by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission

Validity

• Valid for five years and need to be renewed.

• Renewable energy certificates (also known as renewable energy credits, or RECs) represent the energy generated by renewable energy sources, such as wind power or solar facilities.
• Renewable energy certificates (RECs) give individuals, companies and institutions a simple way to offset their carbon footprint and support clean energy.

Information which might help

• A REC that has been sold once cannot be purchased again.
• RECs encourages reduction in usage of fossil fuel-based greenhouse gas emissions or other pollutants
