India - Delete or Remove Name from Voter List or Electoral Roll

Apply In-Person:

  1. If a voter dies or a voter ID holder shifts to a new address (In the same constituency or different constituency), then the voter registration should be cancelled.
  2. In order to delete the name from the voter's list, applicant or kin of deceased shall reach nearest Electoral Registration Office to apply.
  3. Go to the office.
  4. Please collect a copy of “Form-7”, for deletion of name from voter’s list OR you can download it online
  5. Use the following link to download the form. Online link for “Form-7” (Hindi / English) Link please click “Download this file” button to get prompt. Please click the “Download” button next to the preferred language to get the form and Link Download form 7.
  6. The form has all the necessary guidelines for filling it in. Complete the application form with correct details. Attach required documents as per our required document section. Submit them to the receiving officer.
  7. On receiving the application, an acknowledgement will be issued in the form of an application reference number, which can be used to track the application status.
  8. This application will be processed internally to make necessary changes as per department protocol.
  9. The details will be removed from the voter list accordingly.
