- To Convert or Exchange Foreign Professional Pilot License (CPL), the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Civil Aviation link
- The applicant has to visit the office with the request letter.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- The DGCA will verify the authenticity of your foreign CPL and assess your flight experience and qualifications. They may request additional documentation or conduct an examination if deemed necessary.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Depending on the DGCA's requirements, you may need to appear for written examinations related to Air Regulations, Navigation, Meteorology, and other subjects. Prepare for the examinations by studying the applicable DGCA syllabus and recommended reference materials.
- he DGCA may conduct flight checks and simulator assessments to evaluate your flying skills and competency. Prepare accordingly and demonstrate your proficiency in accordance with the DGCA standards.
- Once you have successfully completed the verification, assessment, examinations, and flight checks, the DGCA will issue an Indian CPL based on their regulations and guidelines.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
