Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Press pass, visit the concerned officer in the Directorate of Information & Publicity.
- Note: You need to give appointment letter and if they are agreed you can visit the office and meet them.
- Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
- Describe your publication in the letter and state that you are requesting press pass.
- Get the application form from them or write it on an A4 sheet.
- Fill the application form and attach all the required documents mentioned in the “required documents” section of this page and submit it to the concerned authorities.
- Pay the required amount as quoted by the authorities.
- The authorities will check and verify the details and if you are eligible, the Press pass will be issued on the Specified date.
- You can collect the press pass from the concerned authorities in the Directorate of Information & Publicity.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION OF REGISTRATION FOR JOURNALISTS/ PHOTOGRAPHERS/ CAMERAMAN PRESS
- Forwarding letter from the Editor recommending the case.
- Take Four passport size photograph
- Copy of the appointment letter.
- Copies of three years’ experience certificate.
- Applicant will submit the requisite copies by-line news/photo clippings of Delhi Government in case of print media (at least one news/photo clippings of each months of three years i.e. 36 news/photo clippings.) and latest one year issues of papers at the time of considering its application for pass by DPAC.
- Copy of the current circulation certificate (RNI/DAVP/ABC/CA), registration certificate of RNI in case of print media and sales turn over in case of electronic media.
- Recommendation of two Journalists signature.
- Four stamp size photographs.
- Copy of appointment letter.
- Copies of last One year’s issue of publication.
- Additional If any.
Every document in support of application should be self-attested by applicant (in pdf format and size not more than 2 MB). (In blue ink)

- One passport size photograph (upload in jpg format only and size not more than 2 MB).
- Self-Explain letter regarding three years’ work experience.
- Applicant will submit the requisite copies by-line news/photo clippings of Delhi Government in case of print media (at least one news/photo clippings of each months of three years i.e. 36 news/photo clippings.) and latest one year issues of papers at the time of considering its application for pass by DPAC.
- Copy of the current circulation certificate (RNI/DAVP/ABC/CA), registration certificate of RNI in case of print media and sales turn over in case of electronic media.

- One passport size photograph (upload in jpg format only and size should not more than 2 MB).
- Self-Explain letter regarding 15 years work experience.
- Recommendation of two journalists' signature.
- At least 15 yrs. working experience certificate in journalistic activities and documents, in part time at least one time should be accredited with Delhi government and income proof.

InstructionsEdit
- Describe your publication in the letter and state that you are requesting press pass.
- Include your position at the publication and how long you've been working there. Explain, in detail, what kind of coverage you plan to give the event and what kind of access you would like.
- The concerned department shall issue a photo identity to all reporters/ correspondents/ news/ cameraman/ videographers and editors to whom the pass is granted by the Committee, and whenever necessary, they should have authorization to enter all premises of the Central and State Governments, without any requirement of obtaining visitor pass.
- The Press Pass Committee shall consist of not less than 10 members, representing various recognized mainstream media organizations.
- Pass is personal and not transferable.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Since this comes after security clearance from the Home Ministry, accredited journalists are allowed to enter the premises of most Union government ministries without prior appointment. They are not required to register or record their presence at the reception, or with any other official in any ministry.
- Pass is a recognition given to news media representatives by the Government of India for the purpose of access to sources of information in the Government and also to news materials, written or pictorial, released by the Press Information Bureau and/or other agencies of the Government of India.

- The Journalists in the other parts of the country have to seek state government-issued press pass s. Other benefits a government-accredited journalist gets are railway fare concessions and a Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), which guarantees free treatment at certain hospitals.
- Pass means recognition of news media representatives by the Government of India for purpose of access to sources of information in the Government and also to news materials, written or pictorial, released by the Press Information Bureau and/or other agencies of the Government of India.
