Apply Online

  1. To Apply for Mountaineering License, the applicant has to make the application online via link
  2. From the Sign-Up option, the applicant has to click the “Users” button.
  3. The applicant has to enter all the details for registration process and click the “Submit” button.
  4. Now the applicant has to login with the username and password, captcha code and click “Login” button.
  5. The applicant has to select the form from the menu list.
  6. Enter all the details in the application form.
  7. Update the applicant’s profile with his/her personal details, mountaineering experience, qualifications, etc.
  8. And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode.
  10. The fee details are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  11. Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  15. Once the permit is approved, the applicant can proceed with his/her expedition as per the agreed-upon schedule.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.



Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Mountaineering License, the applicant has to approach the Indian Mountaineering Foundation link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The fee details are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.

EligibilityEdit

To be eligible to apply for a mountaineering license in India, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of India or a foreign national with a valid visa.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have completed a basic mountaineering course from a recognized institute.
  • Have participated in at least one expedition to a peak above 5,400 meters.
  • Be physically and mentally fit to undertake mountaineering activities.


FeesEdit

  • For Indian Teams, the amount is 100% of peak booking charges, i.e., INR 2000 and for foreign teams, the amount is 25% of handling charges.
