Step 1: Trainee Insurance Surveyor Enrolment
- To Apply for Insurance Surveyor License, the applicant must make an enrolment Application with IRDAI on the BAP portal link
- The applicant must click Register and enter their particulars to register an account.
- Click on the tab Surveyors then click on register for login for new applicant
- Create user id and password and update the applicant’s profile and select department(s).
- Then the applicant must select name of the applicant’s trainer from the list of surveyors available on the portal
- A 5-digit number will be generated after successful submission of training request - no separate e-mail will be sent to trainer regarding same
- Trainer will access the portal from his user ID and accept the training request.
- Now trainee applicant will fill Enrolment Form No. 13.
- The applicant has to attach the required documents that are mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After submission form number 13 successfully, URN – number will be generated automatically
Step 2: Examination and Training
- Once the Enrolment Application is approved by IRDAI and the name of the candidate is in the list of eligible candidates for III Exam, the applicant may register himself for the said exam.
- After clearing exam in the selected line of business, the applicant shall begin training in the mode (Training under Surveyor / Institutional Training) as selected at the time of Enrolment.
Step 3: Fresh License Application
- On completion of training, the applicant shall submit Application for Fresh Surveyor License along with the required documents with IRDAI on the BAP portal link
- Login with user id and password and click Trainee tab and click Licensing tab.
- Click Fresh License. The Fresh License Application (Form 1-AF) will open. All the mandatory fields in the form are marked with an asterisk.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The applicant has to attach the required documents that are mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Preview the application and click “Submit.”
- Next the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of Rs 1000.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- Once everything is complete, the applicant will receive an electronic copy of the license via email.
- The entire process can be completed within 10- 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Proof of Identity (Aadhar card, Pan Card, Birth Certificate)
- Proof of Address (Voter ID, Driving License)
- Digital signature
- Digital photograph
- Degree/diploma certificate
- Online trainer’s acceptance certificate
Documents required for fresh license
- No Objection Certificate from the applicant’s employer, if applicable.
- Training reports for the all 4 quarter in the prescribed format.
- Notarized copy of Result Card/Mark sheet issued by the Insurance Institute of India.
- The Training Completion Certificate duly stamped and signed by trainer Copy of PAN Card.
- Copy of Enrollment letter.
- Address proof (driving license, passport, etc.)
- Copy of IIISLA (Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors) Membership.

EligibilityEdit
The applicant, be a person or a company, looking to secure the IRDA Insurance Surveyor Registration, must adhere to the following conditions:
- The applicant must be a member of an institute such as ICSI, ICAI, or IIRM or;
- The applicant must have academic, professional, and insurance qualifications
- The applicant must have a clear insurance company examination
- The applicant must have undergone the required training as recommended by the IRDA

- The validity of the insurance surveyor license in 3 years.
