India - Apply For Extended Area Validity Of Arms (Gun) License

- A person desirous of applying for Areas Extension of a Firearm license should visit the Commissioner of Police's office or Magistrate's office in their district.
- The application form required can be obtained from the Commissioner's office.
- The applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
- Fill in your name, contact details, license details, and address.
- Complete the application form and submit it along with the required documents to the authority for approval.
- The required documents are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The state's licensing authority will approve the application if the application is eligible for extension.
- The fee to be paid differs for each weapon. Check the "Fees" section of this page for details.
- The processing time for the Area Extension of Firearms varies for each state.
- The extended license can be collected from the Commissioner of Police's office.
Apply Online
- A person desirous of applying for Areas Extension of a should visit the Arms License website in India link
- Click on the "Apply Online" button on the menu.
- Then, click on the "Apply Here" option.
- On the next page, select the Category, State, District, Name of the Licensing Authority, and the Service required.
- The website will be redirected to a new page.
- Enter the UIN (Unique Identification Number) provided along with your license.
- As a next step, fill in “License Specific Details” and then the “Endorsement Details.”
- Click on the "Save" button.
- An e-receipt will be issued with the Application Number.
- Go back to the homepage and click on the "Apply Online" button to upload the required documents.
- Click on the "Upload Documents" button.
- Enter your “Application Number,” “Date,” and the “Captcha,” and click on the "Submit" button.
- Upload all the documents required and click on the "Submit" button.
- Go back to the "Apply Online" step and upload the image by clicking on the "Upload Image" button.
- On the next page, enter your “Application Number,” “Date,” and the “Captcha” and click on the "Submit" button.
- Upload your image and click the “Submit” button.
- Go back to the "Apply Online" step once again to pay the required fee.
- Click on the "Make Payment" button and enter your “Application Number,” “Date,” and the “Captcha” and click on the "Submit" button.
- Select your mode of payment and follow the instruction on the screen.
- The fee to be paid differs for each weapon. Check the "Fees" section of this page for details.
- Once the payment is successful, the application will be submitted.
- The application status can be checked by clicking on the "Application Status" button on the menu bar.
- Enter your “Application Number,” “Date,” and the “Captcha,” and click on the "Submit" button.
- The rejection or acceptance of the application will be notified through mail or SMS.
- The extended license can be collected from the Commissioner of Police's office.
