Procedure

1. Go to the office of the Consular General of Iceland or Iceland embassy.
2. Fill out a passport application form.
3. Submit required documents.
4. Pay the necessary fees.

Required Documents

• your current passport (if any)
• one passport photo of the size 35mm x 45mm
• cheque made payable to "Consulate General of Iceland in New York" for the passport including postage fee
• written permission of parent(s) or responsible adult with whom the child lives (for applicant under 18 years old)
• copy of birth certificate, where names of both parents are listed (for applicant under 18 years old)
• photocopy of parents passports (for applicant under 18 years old)
• If the childs mother is not an Icelandic citizen a copy of the marriage certificate is needed. (for applicant under 18 years old)
• Icelandic Identity Number (for applicant who is not an Icelandic citizen)
• proof of identity - driving license, etc.

Passport Fees:

• Passports for 18 - 66 years of age: $100 (inc. postage)
• Passport for age 67 and above and children under 18 years of age: $50 (inc.postage)
