Applying process in Honduras for citizen and non citizens.

a. Apply in-person
  1. Police Clearance Certificate can be applied at “Dirección General de Investigación Criminal (DGIC)”. (National Criminal Investigation Directorate ( DNIC ))

  4. Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  5. Application forms can be obtained from the respective office on visit.
  6. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  7. This application will be processed by respective department.
  8. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.

  1. Applicant shall apply through a representative in Honduras who can apply on their behalf.
  2. Representing person should be entrusted with a power of attorney.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

  • Fee/charge varies for case to case. Updated fee requirement will be provided by respective authorities while applying.

InstructionsEdit

Hoja de Antecedentes may be obtained from the Direccion General de Investigactiones Criminales (DGIC).

Some records may be available at local DGIC offices, but the most complete records are housed at DGIC headquarters in Tegucigalpa.

Applicant must request the document in person and present a Honduran identification card, a copy of the card, and a letter of request addressed to the Director of the DGIC.

Applicants under 18 years of age must present their birth certificate in lieu of the identification card.

For persons living outside of Honduras, a lawyer or close family member can apply for the record by presenting a copy of the applicant's identification, a letter of authorization, and the letter of request.

Normal processing time is less than one week. Police records from before 1995 may not be available. There may be a fee for this service.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

If you are a citizen of Honduras, the "Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales" document should be provided by the Direccion Nacional de Investigacin Criminal in Comayaguela only, and not from the Juzgado or from any other city.

If applicable, provide the police certificate for:

  • The country of nationality.
  • The country of the applicant's residence at the time of visa interview, and
  • Any other country in which the applicant has resided for one year or more.

Local Request:

  • Provide your passport residence book.
  • Certificates from Honduran Ministerio de Gobernacion y Inmigracion should also be provided.

Non Resident Citizens (married to Honduran Citizen):

  • Provide your marriage certificate.
  • Also provide birth certificate of Honduran children, if any.
  • Letters of employment or study.
  • Single photo of specific dimensions, recommended size equals 7.5*9 cms.
  • Fingerprints taken by an authorized police authority or fingerprinting agency.

NOTE:

All the documents submitted should be converted to Spanish.



Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

A police clearance certificate is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.

Police clearance certificate is an official document issued by the police in a country, certifying the criminal record or otherwise of the applicant. Ideally, every adult who has been a resident in any country for six months and over requires a police clearance certificate from that country when applying for visa or immigration services.

Sometimes people who intend to work abroad or in highly sensitive establishments also require reports of good behavior, especially from the police, before they are allowed to work.

It is the applicants responsibility to contact the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary police certificates or clearances. Each countrys procedures are different.
