Himachal Pradesh - Transfer Other State Vehicle

Apply In-Person:

  1. To transfer ownership of a vehicle in Arunachal Pradesh the applicant (buyer or legal heir) has to approach the RTO office of the respective area.
  2. Please follow the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices. Visit the following portal for contact detail: link.
  3. Make sure to have all the necessary documents to process the application.
  4. The application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices directly.
  5. Present the completed application forms with required documents as per the requisite in one of the counters and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing the application.
  6. If the details and documents are in place then the authorities will process the application further.
  7. Authorities will inspect the vehicle, especially chassis number in particular.
  8. The applicant will get the acknowledgement and RC will be issued in 3 days time



Apply Online:

  1. Visit the following portal: portal.
  2. Now select the state from the drop down menu.
  3. After selecting the state the applicant will be redirected to the vahan parivahan website.
  4. On the new page on the left side there is a box to select state and RTO, click on proceed.
  5. Select online services to “Apply for Transfer of Ownership, Change of Address, Hypothecation [Addition/Continuation/Termination], Duplicate RC]”.
  6. Enter the vehicle details such as Vehicle Registration No. and Chassis Number (Last 5 characters) and click on the “Verify Details” button.
  7. Now the complete details of the vehicle will be visible.
  8. Now select the desired option.
  9. Fill in all the details and pay the application fees.
  10. Check the notification address to get the certificate in a stipulated period of time.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online.
  6. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  7. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
  8. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding the documents submitted along with the form.
  9. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form.
  10. The applicant will get the license in a stipulated period of time.

  1. Chasis & Engine pencil prints with complete alphabets (Plate Print are not acceptable)
  2. Copy of Valid Insurance (attested )
  3. Residence Proof (2 Copies - Attested) of both seller & purchaser
  4. Date of Birth proof (Attested copy)
  5. Seller Affidavit (by Notary with Court Fee stamps of Rs. 4.50 / Megistrate) with attested photo
  6. Purchaser Affidavit (by Notary with Court Fee stamps of Rs. 4.50 / Megistrate) with attested photo
  7. Original RC
  8. Identity of Seller (DL/Pan Card showing the Signature) Specimen Signatures attested by Gazetted Officer or Executive Magistrate
  9. NOC from ETO in case of the vehicle purchased is less than 15 months old.
  10. Affidavit for parking in case of bus & LMV (Transport Vehicle)


Following documents are considered as residence proof :

  • Voter card (attested )
  • LIC Cover Note at least six months old with latest receipt of payment (attested)
  • Valid passport (attested )
  • Employer certificate issued by the competent authority with copy of I-card in case of employee of state or central govt. (attested )
  • If an applicant does not have any of the proofs mentioned above, he may attach attested copy of R/card with affidavit.


In case of Company or organization :

  • ITR latest with affidavit or latest sale tax registration certificate with affidavit(attested )
  • Memorandum and resolution signature of all partners with partnership deed is required.


Notes:

  • Documents accepted as proof of Address & Age, supported by Affidavit attested by Public Notary mentioned overleaf.
  • If the ownership of the vehicle is the same then there is no requirement of Form No. 29, only liability affidavit is required by the owner.
  • NOC confirmation is required from the concerned authority
  • Please bring original documents whose photocopies have been attached with the file.
