Apply In-Person :

  1. To apply for Goods Carriage in Himachal Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : RTO Office
  2. Application in HP FROM XXV PA is required. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Form
  3. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down in the “Required Document” section of this page.
  4. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
  5. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  6. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Body built arrangements etc... will be carried by authorities.
  7. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed further.

  2. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
  3. Fitness Certificate.
  4. Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
  5. Insurance Certificate.
  6. No objection certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
  7. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  8. Passport size photo-2
  9. Pollution under control certificate
  10. Proof Of Address (any one of the following to be produced) :
    1. Ration Card
    2. Electoral Roll
    3. LIC Policy
    4. Passport
  11. Age Proof (any one of the following) :

ValidityEdit

Temporary permits are valid for 4 months (Can be extended on request for a maximum of one Year)
Usually the renewal of permit can be obtained with vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO in the matter of regular permits

Need for the DocumentEdit

  1. Goods Carriage Temporary Permit is needed for a vehicle operator to ply his vehicle to carry goods from one place to another.
  2. Vehicles with this permit :
    1. Be used only in a specified area or on a specified route or routes for the specified period
    2. That goods of a specified nature as permitted only be carried (classified as illegal to transport Should be avoided)
    3. That goods shall be carried at specified rates (Weight and distance to travel) etc..
  3. The age of the vehicle should not exceed 12 years.
  4. Goods Carriage (Temporary) Permit is needed for :
  5. Vehicle which has permit and need permit for another route or area
  6. Vehicle which doesn’t have permit, but need permit to operate for specific period to cater the need
  7. Temporary Permits are effective for a limited period which shall not in any case exceed four months, to authorize the use of a transport vehicle temporarily

  9. To meet a particular temporary need
