    • Form CS-L(MVR) 50
  • Provide the necessary documents
    • Proof of legal name and date of birth
    • Proof of social security number
    • Proof of legal presence
    • Proof of residence
  • Pay the fees

Non-Hawaii Registered Vehicle:

  • Completed registration form
  • Last issued out of state certificate of registration.
  • Last issued out of state certificate of title if you are listed as the lienholder.
  • Bill of lading or shipping receipt, which shows the date the vehicle, arrived in Hawaii County.
  • Current Hawaii certificate of safety inspection.


Vehicles Registered in Another County:

  • Completed registration form
  • Other countys certificate of registration
  • Other countys certificate of title if you are listed as the lienholder


Ownership Transfer (Seller):

  • Endorsed certificate of title
  • Current certificate of registration
  • Certificate of safety inspection
  • Notice of transfer form


Ownership Transfer (Buyer):

  • Properly endorsed certificate of title
  • Current certificate of registration
  • Current safety inspection certificate

Need for the DocumentEdit

Just like your drivers license, your vehicle needs to be registered. The registration of the vehicle is done only once followed by an annual renewal. If found unregistered, your vehicle may be impounded by the authorities. So to avoid that circumstance, have your vehicle registered.



Information which might helpEdit

The deadline for the registration of the vehicles is the last working day of the month that your vehicle is scheduled to expire based on your current registration. So, see to it that you have updated it before the month ends.
