In person
- Go to the Division of Motor vehicle, Licensing and permits office or any Satellite City Hall or the Hawaiian Humane Society.
- Complete an Application for Animal Registration
- Submit all required documents.
- Pay the license fee
By post
Mail the signed forms (one per dog) along with payment to:

EligibilityEdit
The owner of a dog must be 18 years of age or older.
FeesEdit
- For dogs that are 4 - 7 months old: $10.00
- NEUTERED dogs 8 months or older, with veterinarian certificate: $10.00
- UNNEUTERED dogs, 8 months old and over: $28.50
For applications to be sent by post: Make the check payable to - "City & County of Honolulu"
ValidityEdit
Licenses expire on December 31 of every second year and must be renewed before March 10 following the expiration date.

The City & County of Honolulu law requires that all dogs, four months or older, must have and should wear a county-issued license tag. This identifies you as the legal owner.
A tag can be purchased at any Satellite City Hall or at Hawaiian Humane Society.
Required InformationEdit
- Owners name
- Address
- Microchip number
- Home and business phone numbers
Applicants will also need to provide the following:
- Dogs name
- Breed
- Age
- Sex
- Veterinary certificate if the dog is spayed or neutered. Also provide the dogs microchip number if available.

For you to be declared as the rightful and legal owner of your dog, it is best that you have it registered.

Upon registration, a collar tag is attached to your pet. Through this, it is very easy for you and your pet to reunite once its accidentally got lost.
