Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Renewal of driving license for the one obtained from another state can be processed with the NOC obtained from home state RTO.
   
2. As a first step, get a NOC (No Objection Letter) from the RTO that issued the license initially. (Please check with local RTO whether NOC is required before processing)
   

   (a) Applicant can get the NOC on directly applying in his home town RTO
   

   (b) If it is not possible to go to the issuing RTO physically, send a letter requesting for NOC. Please send it using either India Post's Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due or through Speed Post with Acknowledgement Due. You will receive the acknowledgement confirming that the letter has been received by the RTO (that issued the license).
   

3. Retain the following -
   

   (i) Copy of the NOC request letter
   

   (ii) The acknowledgement slip/card that you received via regular post/mail
   

4. Applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

7. Please make sure you have all the required documents to process the application

9. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying.
   
10. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
    
11. Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
    
12. If the driver license renewal authority is satisfied with the application and the documents submitted, the driver license will be renewed.
    

Note : For renewal of home state license, you don’t require the NOC.

1. First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online.
   
2. In order to apply for online, please follow the link : online portal
3. Please select "Online Services" from the menu and click on "Driver License Related Services".
4. You will be taken to a new screen where you have to select “Haryana” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”.
5. In the next window, please click “Apply online” to select “New Learners License” option
   
6. The following screen gives you the general information to apply. Here please hit “Continue” to get the next screen. Here, Please enter / select appropriate option and click “Submit” to get the new page to apply online by filling the prompted details and click “submit” at the bottom of the form to process the application.
   
7. Please take printout of Acknowledgement
   
   

Printing application

• You can take printout of online application form with the help of the link: please follow the link online portal link
  
• Select “Haryana” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”
  
• In the next window, please click “Download Forms” to select “Print application form” option
  
• Please enter your application number in the next window and hit ”Submit” follow the next window to get the printout.

• Please click “Appointment (Slot Booking)” to select “Learners License Test” option
  
• In the new window select appropriate option to process your request to book appointment.
  
  

Apply through Centres:

1. To Renew Motor Vehicle Driver License from Other State in Haryana, the applicant shall visit the nearest EDisha / Antyodaya Saral Kendra. Find contacts to EDISHA / ANTYODAYA SARAL KENDRA centres in the Link provided: Link
2. The applicant may also sign in through the web portal mentioned above and provide the required information for the process.
3. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the license.
4. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
5. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
6. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
7. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the edisha centre.
8. Obtain the new license from the concerned office.

Eligibility

• An application for renewal shall be made not more than one month before the date of expiry of the license.
  
• If the application is late for more than five years after the date of expiry of the license, the applicant should undergo all the formalities to obtain a fresh license.

Validity

• License to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the License is renewed every 5 years.
  
• Transport Vehicle License is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue or renewal.

• As per Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a valid Driving License is necessary to drive any motor vehicle on public roads
  
• In case of a person shifting / settling from one state to another should and must apply for renewing his license in the present state.
  
• This renewed driving license will be considered as a proof of residence in the new state.
