Haryana - Obtain Pollution Under Control Certificate (Emission Certificate, PUC)

Apply In-Person:

  1. For a new vehicle, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will be provided by the dealer and it is valid for one year.
  2. After a year, one has to take their vehicle to the nearest emission test center to obtain the renewed PUC certificate.
  3. Now the operator will check the emission levels of your vehicle. Also operator will scan the exhaust pipe through a scanning device.
  4. For petrol vehicles, the vehicle is kept idle without accelerating it. Only one reading will be taken and it will be the final reading.
  5. For diesel vehicles, the vehicle is fully accelerated and 5 readings will be taken. The average of 5 readings will be the final reading.
  6. After calculating the reading of emission levels, operator will disclose a fee amount to be paid.
  7. After payment process, operator will issue the PUC certificate along with the reading.

Apply Online:

  1. To Obtain Pollution Under Control Certificate (Emission Certificate, PUC) in Haryana, the applicant shall visit the following webpage: Link.
  2. Enter the registration Number as prompted along with the Chassis(Last 5 digits) and enter the captcha.
  3. Now hit “PROCEED”
  4. A new page will open up with the PUC details.
  5. Check all the details, if required the applicant may correct the details and upload documents to process the online procedure
  6. The applicant can then download the certificate from the portal itself.
  7. The applicant may also send this application along with all the required documents to the RTO or handover personally to process further.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To Obtain Pollution Under Control Certificate (Emission Certificate, PUC) in Haryana, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC. Find contacts to CSC centres in the Link provided: Link
  2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the license.
  3. Ensure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
  4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
  5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
  6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.
  7. Obtain the certificate from the concerned office.

  • Fee varies from Rs. 60 to Rs. 100.
  • It depends upon the vehicle type and fuel used.

ValidityEdit

  • For new vehicles PUC is valid for 1 year.
  • For old vehicles PUC is valid for 6 months. PUC certificate should be renewed for every 6 months.

  • Vehicles powered by internal combustion engines such as petrol / diesel / CNG / LPG require PUC certification.
  • Penalty of Rs. 1000 is charged for first time offence. Likewise for second time Rs. 2000 will be charged and so on.
