To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.
Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Widow Pension,you have to approach the District Social Welfare Office.
  2. Link for Contact : Contact link. Click on “About Us” option mentioned on the left side of the screen.
  3. Download the application form through the following link : Application form
  4. Fill all the necessary information in the form.
  5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit in the o/o concerned BDPO/MC office after uploading the same through common service center or E-disha center.
  6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
  7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
  8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
  9. All eligible beneficiaries will start to receive the allowance pension every month. The amount will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.



Apply In-Person for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

  1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme,visit the nearest Gram Panchayat /Municipality.
  2. Link for Contact :contact link
  3. Get the application form from the Concerned Officer or write it on an A4 sheet.
  4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
  5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Gram Panchayat /Municipality.
  6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quotes.
  7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
  8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
  9. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.



Online Applying for Widow Pension Scheme through AtalSevaKendra :

  1. To apply for Widow Pension,you can visit the nearest AtalSeva Kendra.

  3. Get the application form through the center and fill the form and attach all the necessary documents to the Service Person in AtalSeva Kendra.
  4. Pay the appropriate fees.
  5. You will be given an acknowledgement. Keep it safe for future reference.
  6. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
  7. All eligible beneficiaries will start to receive the allowance pension every month. The amount will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.

Note : You can also apply through CSC center and E-disha.

Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following Link to locate the centre according to the respective district: Link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online.
  6. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  7. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form.
  8. Use the acknowledgment slip to get the pension in a stipulated period of time.

EligibilityEdit

Eligibility to apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

  • The applicant must be from BPL category (with a valid BPL id)
  • The applicant must be a widow.
  • The applicant must be above 40 years of age.
  •  An amount of Rs 300/- is payable to such pensioners aged between 40-79 years.
  • After attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs 500 per month.

InstructionsEdit

  • She should be a Widow
  • A destitute woman without husband, parents and son
  • Destitute woman due to desertion or physical or mental incapacity of the following:
    • Husband in case of married women
    • Parents in case of other women
  • If the woman is receiving funds from any source including Financial Institutions or Insurance or Commercial Banks are also not eligible for getting pension under this scheme.
  • If the Woman receiving any other type of pension including a family pension by the government or by any other local body is not eligible for this scheme.
