Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for hot water treatment for Mango, please visit the Plant Protection Adviser of the applicant’s respective area. The address and contact details of the head office can be found in the following Link.
2. Visit the Office and get the application form to apply for hot water treatment for Mango from the relevant department or download the application form from the following Link. Refer Page 22.
3. Please fill the application form with the essential information and details and should be attested by the authorized officer of the facility with seal.
4. Please attach all the documents that are listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Then, it should be submitted to the relevant authority. Also pay the required fees (Rs. 2000/- should be paid as registration fee) for the application process at the office as directed by the officials. Please collect the acknowledgement slip for the paid fee. Keep it safe for future reference.
6. The application and attached documents will be sent for verification to check, if there is any discrepancy.
7. The operators of the facility should conduct preliminary, informal performance tests on their own (together with an engineer, if needed), to assure themselves that their equipment is in good working order.
8. The certifying official shall check with the manager of the facility to be sure that if they are aware of the requirements.
9. After all verification of documents, the certifying authority from the Department of PPQS, will check the facility in person and examine the equipments and other all requirements.
10. The Certifying authority will conduct a quality performance test as a final step of the certification.
11. The certification for Hot water immersion treatment will take a minimum of 45days to process.
12. This certificate is valid for only 5 years, after which the facility should apply for renewal of the certificate.
13. After all the process, the certifying authority shall grant the certificate for Hot Water treatment of Mango.
14. The Authorized person of the facility will be informed to collect the certificate in person or it can also be sent to the postal address.

Eligibility

• Any facility having all the requirements and qualifying equipments for the Hot water immersion treatment can apply for certification.

Fees

• Rs. 2000/- should be paid as registration fee.

Validity

• This certificate is valid for only 5 years, after which the facility should apply for renewal of the certificate.

Need for the Document

• The certification process involves the submission of proposals to the Department of PPQS and initial approval of plans and design of facility by the Plant Protection Adviser (applicable in case of new facilities).
• The minimum requirements for certification of facility and also the requirements of preliminary performance testing by the operator of facility on their own or with the help of engineers (if the facility is not previously approved) are important.
• An official performance test will be conducted for certification by the officers of Department of PPQS and re-certification and the operational requirements of the facility
