ProcedureEdit

  • No individual can start or continue a business dealing drugs / cosmetics / medicine in India, unless an appropriate license is obtained from the designated authority.
  • As different state has different parameters and regulations, as a first step applicant shall consult their local drug license authority to get advice on
    • Any updated rules and regulations in issuance of license.
    • Update on drugs that were included in the list for which license can’t be obtained.
    • Fees payment type etc.


Apply Online:

  1. Please use the following link to apply online: link
  2. In the given page, please use the login credentials as appropriate and hit the “Login” button to login.
  3. If you are a new user then use the “Kindly register on ONDLS ('statedrugs.gov.in') Portal” option to reach a new page. Here, please click on the Sign In/Up" option on the top right corner of the page to get the 'Register or SignIn" page.
  4. Please enter the mobile number at the prompted space and click on the "Get OTP" button. An "OTP" will be sent to the registered mobile number. Please enter the received "OTP" at the prompted space and hit the applicable button. Please follow the resulting page instructions / on screen information to complete the registration and then login.
  5. Once login, the applicant shall process the on screen information to get the online application form page.
  6. Please complete the page prompts as appropriate with mandatory details including personal details, details of competent person, address details of premises, Uploading the required documents and completion of payment by uploading the required details.
  7. Once all the mandatory details are filled, please use the applicable button to submit the application online. The system will provide the filled online application to confirm. Please process the page as appropriate to submit the application and get a system generated acknowledgement.
  8. Please save it for future reference and get the printout of the application form.
  9. Applicant gets notification about the submission of online application and different stages of process updates through "sms".
  10. The application will be sent automatically to the respective department (Senior Drug Control Officer –cum- Licensing Authority).
  11. Once the acknowledgement and printout of online application in hand, please visit the respective Senior Drug Control Officer –cum- Licensing Authority or the concerned authority with set of required documents. The authorities will verify the details. The authorities will provide the details about the rest of the process. The applicant shall follow the guidelines of the authorities.
  12. Applicant gets notification about the process updates through "sms".
  13. Once the applicant completes the other set of process as advised by the authorities by online or in person, the application will be processed further.
  14. Drug inspector or the respective authority will inspect the premises for verifying the correctness.
  15. On a scheduled date the inspection team/authority will inspect the premise.
  16. After the inspection is over, Competent person will be asked to report for an interview.
  17. Once the interview is complete and the above process are over, the Senior Drug Control Officer –cum- Licensing Authority or the appropriate authority will sanction the drug license.
  18. If required, the applicant may be asked to pay the fees or charges as applicable.
  19. The applicant will receive information about the issue of license.
  20. The licence will hand delivered or can be download or delivered through mail or delivered as per applicable norms.



Note:
  • Fee payment for the license is accepted in different formats like challan/cheque as applicable. Applicants are advised to take the consultation with the respective drug license authority for your area to prepare fees requirement.



Apply In-Person:

  1. The applicant has to visit the nearest FDA office. Please tap on the following Link for contact information: contact.
  2. Please go to the respective office and collect the application form or write on an A4 sheet as advised.
  3. Submit the completed application along with “required documents” and original copy of fees paid challan to the designated authority at the FDA district Office.
  4. The submitted application will be checked by authorities for details and norms.
  5. If all are in place authorities will issue a receipt (an acknowledgement) for application submission. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  6. This application will be processed further.
  7. The applicant gets notification about the process updates through "SMS".
  8. Drug inspector or the respective authority will inspect the premises for verifying the correctness.
  9. On a scheduled date the inspection team/authority will inspect the premises.
  10. After the inspection is over, the applicant will be asked to report for an interview.
  11. Once the interview is completed and the above process is over, the Assistant Commissioner FDA or the appropriate authority will sanction the drug license.
  12. The applicant will receive information about the issue of license and shall receive it on hand or through mail as appropriate in a stipulated period of time.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following Link to locate the centre according to the respective district: Link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online.
  6. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  7. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
  8. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding the documents submitted along with the form.
  9. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form.
  10. The applicant gets notification about the process updates through "sms".
  11. Drug inspector or the respective authority will inspect the premises for verifying the correctness.
  12. On a scheduled date the inspection team/authority will inspect the premises.
  13. After the inspection is over, the applicant will be asked to report for an interview.
