Apply Online:

  1. Liquor consumption is illegal in Gujarat.
  2. Go to the online e-permit portal Link
  3. Usually in the new screen please select “Tourist permit” Or “Visitor permit” option as appropriate
  4. Applicant will be taken to a new page for completing the online form as prompted in sessions (Basic details, Verify identity, Upload documents & Apply permit).
  5. Once the online filing is completed using the right button, user gets acknowledgement for the application made.
  6. Applicant shall follow the notification to print the e-permit.
  7. This e-permit is subject to physical verification of uploaded documents. A designated authority will sign and stamp the permit after physical verification of the uploaded documents. Please approach Permit shop (liquor) to get the authenticated.
Note: Grant or rejection of permission is sole discretion of authorities.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain a Liquor Possession Permit, the applicant has to approach the State Excise Department office – link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  8. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  9. The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
  10. The authority will undergo a thorough inspection by a certified inspector to ensure that it meets the required standards.
  11. This entire process can be completed within 10 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

In case of individual,

  • Above the age of 21 years or as per state norms.
  • Who is a citizen of India or a Person of Indian Origin (P.I.O.)

Note:

  • The permit holder shall not use liquor except for the purpose mentioned.
  • Liquor should be obtained from an authorised dealer or hotel.

  • Charges are not same in all states of India.
  • Please pay as per the department amendment. Authorities while applying will guide in brief.

ValidityEdit

  • Valid for a year and need to be renewed annually by making required payment as required.
  • If the permit is granted for lifetime, then renewal will be done as per requirement.

CONDITIONS

  1. The authority holder shall be bound by the state Liquor (Licence and permit) Rules and amendments from time to time in so far as they relate to him.
  2. Supply of liquor shall be obtained by the authority holder from a wholesale depot licensee in this state. The transport of the consignment of liquor from the supplying licensee to the premises of the authority holder shall be under cover of a transport permit in Form F.T.P.1 issued by the Assistant Commissioner.
  3. The quantity of liquor possessed under the authority shall not exceed ……..litres at any one time and the quantity used in a month shall not exceed ………….litres.
  4. liquor possessed under this authority may be used by the holder for consumption propose and for no other purpose.
  5. The authority holder shall maintain accounts in Form F.Ac.11. All bills of purchase of brandy together with transport permit shall be preserved in support of the accounts and produced for inspection on demand by any officer competent to inspect the authority.
