Procedure

Apply In-Person

• To apply for a Fitness Certificate for Transport Vehicle in Gujarat the applicant has to approach the RTO office of his area.

• Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application form
  
• Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
  
• The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure
  
• Make sure you have completed application form CFA : form 38
  
• The applicant should bring in their vehicle for inspection.
  
• Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices.
  
• Present the completed application forms in the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  
  

Apply Online - Gujarat Obtain Inspection and Fitness Certificate (FC) for Vehicles Online with Images

• Please use the link to reach online portal Parivahan : Online Application Portal
  
• Enter the registration Number as prompted and hit “PROCEED”
  
• New screen will open to give options to choose. Choose “Apply for Fitness Renewal/Re-Apply After Fitness Being Failed” to get new screen.
  
• Enter your Chassis(Last 5 digits) number and click the button next to chassis number box.
  
• In the next screen, Fill in required details and upload documents to process the online procedure.
  
• You can then go to the RTO office to submit to process further.

• To book appointment, please use the following link: Online portal
  
• Enter the registration Number as prompted and hit “PROCEED”.
  
• In the next window, select “book appointment” under “Appointment” option to get the next screen.
  
• Enter the Application Number in the prompted box and hit “get user details” to process the request for getting the slot.

Eligibility

• Vehicle owner is eligible to apply for Fitness Certificate for Transport Vehicle

Validity

• In case of Private vehicles, the fitness certificates is valid for 15 years and there after renewed at every 5 years.
  
• In case of Transport Vehicles the fitness certificate is issued for a new vehicle for 2 years and subsequently renewed every year.

Need for the Document

• The registration of vehicle is treated as valid only, if the vehicle has valid certificate of fitness. Fitness certificate for a vehicle is required to renew the current status of the vehicle.
  
• The fitness is checked and certified by the Registering Authority.
  
• Fitness certificate is issued to check the pollution caused by the emission of smoke from the vehicles, to maintain the vehicle in proper condition and to avoid accidents.
  
• Fitness Certificate is an official document certifying that the holder’s vehicle is fit to drive at public places.
  
  

Information which might help

• An applicant should apply for renewal of his vehicle Fitness Certificate within 30 days from the date of expiry of its validity.
  
• RTO officials has the right to decide upon the issue of certificate.
