Procedure

To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply-In-Person through Vidhva Sahay Yojana :

1. To apply for Vidhva Sahay Yojana, you have to visit the website by clicking on the following link.

3. Download the application form through this link Application form.
4. Fill all the required information in the application form.
5. After this, you check the information entered in your form and upload all the necessary documents.
6. Now you submit the application form to the Social Security Office. From here you will be given a social security acceptance certificate.
7. After this, your application form will be verified and approved by the regional office.
8. On successful completion of all the process, you will be selected to get the Widow Pension.

Note :You can also get the Social Security Assistance application form from your nearest CSC Center.

Apply In-Person for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme,visit the Social welfare department.

4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Social welfare department.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

Required documents for Vidhva Sahay Yojana:

• Proof of Identification
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Ration card
• Residence proof (domicile certificate of Gujarat)
• Affidavit (As per Appendix 2/3)
• Income certificate (as per Appendix 3/4)
• BPL certificate (if available)
• Proof of age
  • Birth certificate
  • Matriculation certificate
  • School living certificate
  • Any government-issued ID specifying age
  • If you do not have any of the above, you can submit age proof from the Medical Officer of the Government Hospital / Civil Hospital.

• Death Certificate of Husband
• BPL Status Certificate (verifiable through Ration card)
• Age proof.
• Citizenship proof.
• Aadhaar Card

  • Bank Passbook with Photo (Kisan Photo Passbook also valid)
  • PAN Card issued by Income Tax Department

Eligibility

Eligibility to apply for Vidhva Sahay Yojana :

• The applicant woman must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
• It is compulsory for a woman to be between 18 and 40 years old.
• Only widows and abandoned women are eligible to apply.
• The women should not married again.
• This assistance amount is only for poor widow women living below the poverty line.

Eligibility to apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

• The applicant must be from BPL category (with a valid BPL id)
• The applicant must be a widow.
• All widows aged 18 or above can apply.

Fees

• Rs.20 to apply for Vidhva Sahay Yojana

Validity

• It is valid forever.

Widow from BPL family aged 18 or above, get the amount of 700/- per month till she gets remarried or her son attend the age of 21.
