- HOW TO APPLY
- Both parties need to visit the The Department of Public Health Office of Vital Statistics in Mangilao or Department of Revenue and Taxation’s General Licensing Division in Tiyan with all the required documents and recommended fee
- Request for the application form for a marriage licence, read through the instruction carefully, the form must be filled out by the bride and groom
- Pay the application fee and submit the filled form with the required documents to the attending officer
- The attending officer will then verify your documents if all the information are correct your marriage licence will be process and be issued within 5 working days
- To waive the 5 day waiting period required for processing of the marriage license, an affidavit of “Good Cause Shown” must be completed and filed with the Office of Vital Statistics. A non-refundable fee of $50 will be assessed for the wavier, if approved.
- The person or priest performing or solemnizing the marriage must have the marriage license to sign before the ceremony

- Both the applicants should provide original I.D or passport.
- Certified copies of birth certificates.
- Proof of dissolution or death must be produced to the concerned authority, if either applicant has been married before. I.e. divorce certificate or dead certificate of their former spouse

FeesEdit
The fee to get a marriage license includes $30.00 plus other charges if applicable A non-refundable fee of $50 will be assessed for the wavier, if approved.
ValidityEdit
The license is valid for 60 days after it is issued. After that, the process starts again.

- Make sure you have photo identification such as a driver’s license or a passport and birth certificates for both bride and groom.
- For non-U.S Citizens, a “Marriage License Affidavit” form from the Office of Vital Statistics must be completed and notarized on Guam.

- The person or priest performing or solemnizing the marriage must have the marriage license to sign before the ceremony. Aside from ordained clergymen and priests of the preferred faith, others can perform civil marriages, including: the governor or lieutenant governor of Guam, judges and justices, the speaker or his designee, such as senators, or the director of administration.
- After commencement of the ceremony, you must take the executed marriage certificate to the Office of Vital Statistics located in first floor of the Department of Public Health and Social Services building in Mangilao within 10 working days.
- A certified copy of your marriage certificate will be provided to you within a few minutes. A non-refundable fee and you will be assessed for each certified copy of the marriage license.
