ProcedureEdit

  1. Obtain an application form from the Licence Department (Inland Revenue) or any District Revenue Office/Police Station.
  2. Submit the completed form along with your identification (National ID card, NIS card, Passport, or Birth Certificate) and Medical Certificate from a Registered Doctor
  3. Present All documents to a police officer for approval.
  4. Pay the $50 application fee.
  5. Collect your Learner's Permit card at the Licence Department (Inland Revenue).

EligibilityEdit

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, 17 for motor cycle/scooter riders.



FeesEdit

Learner's Driving Permit: $50



ValidityEdit

The permit is valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of issue, and should be used between 6 am and 6 pm daily.

Once you receive your permit, you may begin your driving lessons in preparation for your practical driving examination.

InstructionsEdit

Class B is the most popular class of Driver's Licence and it is the basis of obtaining the other Classes from Class C through E. Exceptions to this rule applies to Class A, A1 and Class F also known as the Operator's (F class) Licence is used for other motor Vehicles such as Fork Lift and Roadrollers, Class B is not a prerequisite for obtaining these classes.
