Greenland - Police Clearance Certificate (Criminal Record)

This service is available to people who require confirmation of their criminal status for emigration purposes or for working abroad. A certificate stating whether any criminal offences are recorded against the applicant, will be issued. Fingerprints are taken at the nearest police station, where after they will be analyzed and the certificate will be issued. Only the Criminal Record Centre may issue police clearance certificates.
The applicant must provide a full set of his/her fingerprints, preferably taken at their nearest police station. The applicants full name, surname, date of birth, place of birth and identity number must also be recorded on the fingerprint form. A copy of the applicants identity document or passport must accompany the application. The applicant must present their identity document at the police station, as proof of identity will be required. Required DocumentsEdit
Provide: written and signed request together with a copy of your passport, your last registered address in Denmark and a return address. A copy in English can be requested.

Need for the DocumentEdit
A Criminal Record or a penal record (Straffeattest) is available to all persons 15 years of age or over. Individuals in Greenland can obtain a copy of their police record within minutes by requesting one in person at virtually any police station in Greenland. Individuals outside Greenland can obtain a copy free of charge by sending a written request along with their CPR number and a copy of their passport or birth certificate.
A criminal record issued by the police and provide information about a person's judgments, fines and settlement in terms of offense. A random example. act not to commit a new offense, pay a fine, attend courses on a specific location or to follow a treatment.

The Faroe Islands and Greenland are part of the Kingdom of Denmark. As a main principle, the Danish Constitution stipulates that the foreign and security interests for all parts of the Kingdom of Denmark are the responsibility of the Danish government.
