Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To renew cabin crew member certificate in Ghana, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Ghana.

3. Application form should obtain from the respective office.
4. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
7. The receiving officers will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified /corrected.
8. If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the renewal of a license and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed renewal application fees, after which the license will be issued.
9. A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the renewal of the Cabin Member Crew Certificate, after which his/her will be contacted through a phone call to collect his/her new license at the GCAA offices.
10. Applicant will be required to carry his/her identification documents when collecting your certificate.

Eligibility

• The applicant should be in possession of a valid/ expired cabin crew member certificate
• A holder of a cabin crew member certificate may apply for renewal if the holder has successfully completed the annual safety and emergency procedure training approved by the Authority every twelve months. This is proven by an endorsement on their competency book.

Fees

• A fee of GHS 2,000 is charged for this renewal application.

Instructions

The applicant should:

• Complete the prescribed renewal application form,
• Submit the completed form with all the required documents.
• Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.
• Wait for the processing period to elapse then collect your renewed cabin crew member certificate.

• Gender
• Particulars of ratings already held (Aircraft type rating and Date of Issue , Number and Expiry Date )
• Whether yet examined for and obtained a medical certificate in accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations
• Whether the applicant is able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language in accordance with the English language proficiency requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations.
• Whether the applicant has met all the requirements for the issuance of this licence

Need for the Document

• A person shall not act as a cabin crew member unless that person holds a valid cabin crew member certificate.

Information which might help

• Present a photo Identification Card or a Passport as a form of identification, details of which should be the same as the personal information provided on the prescribed application form and if the applicant’s identity cannot be verified, the application will be rejected, and the applicant will have to return with the proper identification.
