Apply In-Person

  1. To registration of non-governmental animal health and welfare providers in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ghana Ministry of Health (MOH) contact link
  2. Application form is available in the ministry of health office.
  3. Applicant must provide all the necessary information in the application form.
  4. The applicant has to make sure that the applicant has all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  6. On completion of this process, the applicant will be given feedback by the Board.
  7. The Ghana Veterinary Board shall inspect approved institutions from time to time. The Board shall carry out inspection every year for the purpose of approval.
  8. The certificate may be cancelled at any time when the Board establishes a breach of any provisions of these Regulations.
  9. Complete new applications will be processed within 6 months of receipt of the application.

  • Reports submitted only in a language other than English will not be accepted.

  • Institution desiring to offer animal health services to safeguard their health and welfare should be approved with the Ghana Veterinary Board in order to carry out their operations in Ghana.
  • This helps to curb sub-standard facilities which spring up and lower the standards of animal health services by non-governmental organizations being offered in Ghana.

  • If the organization changes the veterinary surgeon, it should notify the Ghana Veterinary Board and it should suspend all animal health services until it has recruited a veterinary surgeon in charge of the animal health services.
