Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain or Reclaim lost TIN Number in person, the applicant has to approach the Register General Department in Ghana Contact link
- Applicant will be provided with either of the following application forms depending on the type of TIN he/she want to register.
- Applicant must make sure to carry all the necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
- Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page. Pay the appropriate fees where the officials would start processing his/her application.
- Complete the application form and attach the required documents before submission to the revenue officer.
- Attached all documents need to be attached to the application before submission.
- This application will be processed and the information will be verified by the authority.
- If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
- The applicant must approach the office mentioned earlier to collect the license once they get notified by the authority about the same.
- The new TIN can after be collected from the designated office after the 1 day.

- A copy of a valid National Identity card
- A copy of a valid passport
- A copy of a valid driver's license
- A copy of a legitimate voter's identification card
- Certificate or letters of business registration

- A fee for this tax identification number is GHS 5,000 to GHS.10, 000.

- One has to appear in Person for replacement of Tax identification Number to the Revenues and Customs Authority Main Office visit the offices of Ghana Revenue Authority to obtain a replacement Tax Identification Number.

Here are some of the services the applicant would need to use his/her TIN for in Ghana
- To clear any goods in commercial quantities from any port or factory.
- To register any title to land, interest in land or any document affecting land.
- To obtain any Tax Clearance Certificate from the Internal Revenue Service, Customs Excise and Preventive Service or the Value Added Tax Service.
- To obtain a Certificate to commence business or a business permit issued by the Registrar-General or a District Assembly.
- To receive payment from the Controller and Accountant General or a District Assembly in respect of a contract.
- Supply of any goods or provision of any services to register for the Ghana Card with the National Identification Authority.

- The tax identification number (TIN) is a unique identification number issued to tax payers for official transactions. In Ghana, apart from paying taxes, TIN is used for other services like importing goods into the country and registering a business or land.

If the applicant possesses the TIN, then the applicant will be able to:
- Conduct business with government ministries, state departments, and Agencies
- Obtain payments for jobs and contracts done for the government
- File a case at the court
- Register the applicant’s company at the registrar-general department
- Obtain passport form the passport office
- Open a bank account
- Obtain a tax clearance certificate from Ghana Revenue Authority Clear goods form the port
- Bid for contracts form the government
- Register your land documents with the Land Commission
- Conduct business with metropolitans, municipals and district Assemblies
- Obtain a driver’s license and register his/her vehicle at the DVLA
