Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Permission for Corn Mill in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ada East District Assembly (AEDA) office or Ministry of Food and Agriculture contact link
2. Application form should obtain the respective office.
3. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
4. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
6. Upon submission of the application, the registering officer will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified corrected.
7. The authority may request additional information relevant to the application. In such a case, the information must be submitted within the stipulated time from the date of notification. Where the applicant fails to submit the required information, the application shall be rejected.
8. After the document evaluation phase has been completed satisfactorily, the Director shall not issue a license unless-
9. It is of the opinion that the applicant is a fit and proper person to hold such a license.
10. It is satisfied that the applicant has sufficient knowledge, experience, and capacity to enable him to conduct business or that he has, amongst his staff, a person with such knowledge and experience.
11. If approved the Director office shall prepare the license that shall be valid for a period of one (01) year, which indicates the approval scope and limitations.
12. Permit is issued shall specify the premises upon which the milling of corn may be carried on.
13. This procedure take a maximum of 90 days to process.

• Copy of memorandum and articles of association for the Company/ co-operative society/ partnerships/private firm.
• The type of technology employed in manufacturing the products specified shall be adequately illustrated by flow diagrams of the process; list of major equipment.
• A brief description of the manufacturing process and production plan indicating the operational parameters of the factory and qualities of the end products.
• Corn Miller Registration Certificate.
• Profile of all key personnel proposed for the mill in the management and technical areas.
• Proof of payment for this license

Validity

• This certificate is valid for one (01) year and shall expire on the 30th June next following the date of issue, unless revoked, suspended, or cancelled by the Authority. .

• The Ada East District, formerly Dangme East District and was created in 1989 by Local Government Instrument, L. I. 1491.  By subsection (one) of section 3 of the Local Government Act, 1993 (Act 462), a new district (Ada West) was carved out of Dangme East with a new Local Government Legal Instrument (L.I 2130) a new  district which was established and  known as Ada East in June, 2012 with twenty seven electoral areas.
