Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for an Approved Religious or Charitable Activities Permit in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
3. Fill the form with the right information to facilitate the process.
4. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. The Commission will review the application and all submitted documents. This process takes averagely 2 to 3 months. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid.
7. After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
8. The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when applicants present all the documents the right way.
9. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
10. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall grant the license to the applicant.

• Signed cover letter from the employer / self / organization addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services.
• A Copy of national passport
• Two recent colored passport size photos
• Current Immigration status if in the country
• Registration certificate of the organization.
• Certified copies of academic and professional certificates

• This permit is issued to a person who is a member of an institution registered under the Society's Act who is engaged as a missionary, Member of a company limited by guarantee, Member of a trust registered under the Trustees Act and is approved by the Government of Kenya, and whose presence in Ghana will be of benefit to Ghana.
