Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for an Approved Religious or Charitable Activities Permit in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
- The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
- Fill the form with the right information to facilitate the process.
- Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The Commission will review the application and all submitted documents. This process takes averagely 2 to 3 months. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid.
- After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
- The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when applicants present all the documents the right way.
- If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
- On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall grant the license to the applicant.

- Signed cover letter from the employer / self / organization addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services.
- A Copy of national passport
- Two recent colored passport size photos
- Current Immigration status if in the country
- Registration certificate of the organization.
- Certified copies of academic and professional certificates

- This permit is issued to a person who is a member of an institution registered under the Society's Act who is engaged as a missionary, Member of a company limited by guarantee, Member of a trust registered under the Trustees Act and is approved by the Government of Kenya, and whose presence in Ghana will be of benefit to Ghana.
