Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for an Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Permit in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
3. Fill the form with the right information to facilitate the process.
4. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. The Commission will review the application and all submitted documents. This process takes averagely 2 to 3 months. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid.
7. After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
8. The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when applicants present all the documents the right way.
9. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
10. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall grant the license to the applicant.

Required Documents

• Duly filled and signed application Form
• Signed cover letter from the employer / self / organization addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services
• A Copy of national passport
• Two recent colored passport size photos
• Copy of any previous permit(s) and or pass(es) held
• Current Immigration status if in the country
• Proof of land ownership/leasehold
• Proof capital availability bank statement (minimum USD 100,000)
• Clearance/license from relevant bodies
• Copy of PIN certificate
• Current, Signed audited accounts for the last one year (for renewals)
• Tax compliance certificate from KRA(for renewals)

Eligibility

• Has acquired, or has received all permissions that may be necessary in order to acquire, an interest in land of sufficient size and suitability for the purpose.
• Has in his own right and at his full and free disposition sufficient capital and other resources for the purpose.
• And whose engagement in that business will be of benefit to Ghana.

Fees

• Processing fees for this procedure is 10,000 non-refundable.
• A license fee for this procedure is 100,000 per year.

Validity

• The validity period is one year.

Instructions

• The registration fee is non-refundable.
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offence.
• The applicant must be present in person when the application is presented at the immigration headquarters or regional offices for registration.
• Giving false or misleading information is an offence punishable by law.
• Any person who contravenes any provision or requirement of an order issued to a foreign national commits an offence and is liable to a fine, imprisonment or both.
