Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for a Premises License for Handling Pesticides in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) office contact link
  2. Then, the applicant can get their application form or click the link below to download link.
  3. Read through the application form carefully as it contains different section.
  4. Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
  6. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the EPA office for verification and processing.
  7. Applicant will be issued with the prescribed fee invoice, visit any ECOBANK branch near you with the invoice and make the payment.
  8. The EPA will dispatch an inspector to the facility premises for inspection to determine if Good Disposal Practice (GDP) and Good Transportation Practice (GTP) during storage and dispatch and disposal of product is practise.
  9. A copy of the report finding will be given to the applicant and if any modification or upgrading is required, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and you will be required rectify the problem.
  10. Upon successful implementation of the CAPA, a follow-up inspection may be conducted by the inspection team to ascertain the effectiveness of the implementation (where applicable).
  11. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the conditions are meet as required for the application, applicant will be notified of the outcome and issued with the permit/license.
  12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is taken 1 month.


Note: All fees charged are payable at any ECOBANK Ghana Branch by presenting the invoice issued by the Agency to the bank.

  • To maintain your license status, the facility shall be inspected annually to ensure that the facility remains in compliance with the license requirements.

  • Types of pesticides to be formulated/repackaged or manufactured

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • There are specific requirements to be met by premises handling pesticides so as to be licensed. These are outlined under Ghana pesticide legislation, part II of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Act (Act 490)
  • No person shall use any premises, or being the owner or occupier thereof permit or allow the premises to be used, for the purposes of manufacturing, formulating, packaging, selling or storing, pest control products unless that person is in possession of a licence issued under the Regulations in respect of those premises.
