Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Tax Relief in person, the applicant has to approach the Ghana revenue authority office.
- Address and contact details can be found in the following contact link
- Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
- Read through the instruction carefully and fill the application form accurately, verify all the information is correct before submitting it to the attending officer. In case of any difficulty please request assistance from the staff.
- The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- After submitting the filled form, the official will enter the applicant’s information into the GRA computer system.
- The system will automatically compute the applicant’s tax return and in the case have a refund, the applicant will be routed to a program that prints the applicant’s refund check a payment request will be sent to deposit the money into the applicant's bank account with a day.
- The processing time for this procedure is immediate.

- The general public is reminded that the penalty for failure to file a tax return by the due date is Five hundred Ghana cedis (GHS 500) and a further penalty of ten Ghana cedis (GHS 10) for each day the failure continues.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Tax returns in Sale are reports filed with the Customs and Exercise Administration in Rabat containing information used to calculate income tax or other taxes. Tax returns are generally prepared using forms prescribed by the Customs and Exercise Administration or other applicable taxing authorities.
- A tax return provides information so that the taxation authority can check on the taxpayer's calculations, or can determine the amount of tax owed if the taxpayer is not required to calculate that amount.

- The Ghana revenue authority (GRA) wishes to remind all income-earing individuals including self-employed persons and partnerships; companies, entities and all taxpayers that by virtue of the income tax Act, 2015 (Act 896) and the revenue administration Act, 2016 (Act 915), they are required to file a return of income with the commissioner-general not later than four months after the end of each year of assessment.
