Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Fruit and Vegetable Export Licence in person, the applicant should contact the Food and drugs authority (FDA) regional office in Ghana.
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department or application form can be obtained from this Link.

5. Read carefully through the application form as there contain different section.
6. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
7. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per as authority’s request.
8. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents and fees receipt to the FDA regional and district office or the head office.
9. Upon receipt of an application, the Authority shall review the application to ensure that all the relevant documents are available to enable the processing of the application.
10. On successful review of application by the Commissioner, approval for audit shall be granted.
11. The audit shall take a period commensurate to the number and how far the out growers and pack house are located.
12. On completion of the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industries and Fisheries audit, the Inspection team shall submit the report to the Commissioner within 24 hours after audit for official recommendations. A copy shall be submitted also to the export company.
13. Upon successful recommendation from the Commissioner for Crop Inspection and Certification, the Applicant can then be issued a FDA registration number as an FFV exporter that shall be always stamped on each cargo box before export as part of traceability requirements.
14. After fulfilling all the necessary steps a fruit and Vegetable Licence will be issued

• Proof to produce Fruits and Vegetables hygienically without contamination
• Report of NO OBJECTION.
• Audited report from your pack house and production / out grower scheme.
• Report on export readiness test, in areas of Market Knowledge
• Prove of ownership/hired/rented/shared pack house.
• phytosanitary certificates

Validity

• A Licence issued under this Act is valid for one year and expire on 31 December.
