Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Consent to Assign (Judicial Sale) in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Land Commission office Contact link
  2. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Governor’s consent for assignment deed registration from the relevant department.
  3. Make sure that the applicant has all the documents in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  4. The fees for this consent to assign (judicial sale) is GHS 155 and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  5. Complete the form with required details and it should be signed by both seller and buyer of the property. Sign the form and attach the required documents with the completed form.
  6. Submit it to the Governor in the State Government office and pay the consent fee as directed. Also, the proof of payment should be submitted at the office.
  7. After the completion of necessary processes, the Governor will issue the consent and the applicant can proceed to complete the Stamping of Deed.
  8. Then, he/she must proceed to register the Assignment Deed with the State Government by submitting the Governor’s consent, Stamped Deed and other documents (as required).
  9. Also, pay the required fees for the registration and after the completion of a set of verification processes, the Deed of Assignment will get registered.
  10. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 1 month.


Apply online

  1. Go to the online website. Link for site online link
  2. In the given new window, click “login/register” button under “Login/Register to Avail following Facilities” on the left part of the screen.
  3. User will reach login page. Please enter “User Name”, “Password” and “Captcha” as appropriate and click “Login” button.
    • If the applicants are a new user, then user please use the “Don’t have account, register…..” option to reach registration page. Complete the page prompts as appropriate and click “Register” button to register and then login.
  4. Once login, in the given page click “Correction in personal details” button.
  5. A new page prompts user to choose either “Self” or “Family” as per requirement. Please choose as per requirement and click “Next” button.
  6. User shall also select the language of choice.
  7. In the new page please enter the Part number and Serial number at the prompted space. Make entries which require changes or correction. Fill the required details correctly.
  8. Upload relevant documents as applicable. Please enter email ID, Phone number and other details as applicable.
  9. Enter the Captcha at the prompted space and click “Submit” button to apply online.
  10. A system generated reference id will be displayed as acknowledgement.
  11. Save this id safe for the future reference to check the status.
  12. This application will be processed by the department.
  13. The internal process will be initiated to verify the details.
  14. Applicant gets notification about the consent to assign on the different stages of process.

  • A copy of evidence of legal existence (certificate to commence business and incorporation) and Certificate of annual renewal (where assignee/ sub lessee is a company)and Plus a copy of photo ID of company’s representative
  • A copy of the judgement based on which property is being transferred
  • A copy of the deed of assignment from the court
