Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Commonwealth Educational Fund (CEF), the applicant must go to the Scholarship Secretariat in Ghana contact link
  2. Then, the applicant can get their application form.
  3. Applicant has to enter all information in the application form.
  4. Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page. Pay the appropriate fees where the officials would start processing your application.
  6. Completed application form must submit to the respective office.
  7. Your grant proposal will contain everything about your project or what you intend to do with the funding you can avail from the government. One of the keys to learning how to apply for government grants is to learn to write a good grant proposal. Of course, your proposal will be the basis of the approval of your grant.
  8. Although you are asking for funding, it can be impressive for any funding agency or, in this case, the government to see your part or your contribution in the attainment of that project. If you don't have an amount of cash as counterpart, then you can also present your labour and other resources as your budgetary counterpart in the fulfilment of the project. Of course, you don't have to everything to the funding you will receive.
  9. If you lack requirements, all your efforts may be put to waste and your application denied. After you have submitted everything to the Education Trust Fund (CEF) or concerned agencies, you can now then wait for the notification of approval of your grant.
  10. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 6 weeks.

Need for the DocumentEdit

This Fund is DIFD grant. It is used to provide support to community based groups, Agencies, institutions and networks or coalition working on education policies to achieve the following objectives.

  • Strengthen civil society participation in design and implementation national and local educational plans and frameworks.
  • Enable local communities to monitor government spending on education both at national and Local Levels.
  • Support innovative ways for communities to ensure that all children especially girls and most vulnerable children are able to access quality education within a flame work of national educational fund plans in a way that links to advocacy work of national Level.
