Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Chop Bars Keepers and Cooked food sellers in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ada East District Assembly (AEDA) office contact link
2. Applicants should obtain the required application form from the Ada East District Assembly Office.
3. Applicant must be filled all information in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
5. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
6. A District Assembly may charge fees for any service or facility provided by that District Assembly or for any permit issued by or on behalf of the District Assembly subject to guidelines on fee charging prescribed by the Minister.
7. Completed application form must submit to the AEDA office.
8. The application will be processed as per the information and documentation provided, that is why applicants are advised to provide sufficient information to enable the AEDA to evaluate the business/company and make its decision.
9. Notice of the decision (Approval, Deferral, or Rejection) for the application will be communicated to the client as pre preferable mode (in writing /phone/email/ in-person).
10. The certificate will be granted if AEDA certificate board is satisfied with the applicant’s ability to deliver on its proposed business plan.
11. If approved, the applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity document and the acknowledgement slip, while collecting the certificate, at the AEDA head office where the application was lodged.
12. The license shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the AEDA Licensing board deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the certificate.
13. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 60 working days.

Eligibility

• Despite the provisions of any enactment to the contrary
• Non-tax revenue collected by a department of a District Assembly shall be retained by that District Assembly and be used for the performance of the functions of that department; and
• Revenue from levies and fees charged in respect shall be collected exclusively by or for the District Assembly.
