Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Change of Ownership of a School, the applicant has to approach the Ghana Education Service (GES) Headquarters.
- Address and contact details can be found in the following Contact link.
- Applicant must obtain the application form.
- Read carefully through the application form as there contain different section.
- The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- No fees associate with the service.
- Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents (listed below) to the GES office.
- The department concern will verify the application and approve the application form.
- Then the application will be processed and a certificate will be issued to the applicant.
- Maximum the processing Time for this procedure is 5 days.

Required DocumentsEdit
- A copy of the license letter.
- Original registration certificate of the school.
- School bank statement showing the financial status.
- Financial report showing the creditors and debtors of the school.
- Land title/ tenancy agreement transfer.
- Staff lists/student registers.
- Inventory records (school structures, equipment, and instructional materials).
- Other school records such as award letter, students’ certificates and a record of those taken/ not taken.
- School lay out plan.
- Evidence of legal change of ownership and this should include copies of sales agreement.
- A 5-Year Development Plan.
- His/her Curriculum Vitae and passport photographs.
- His/her bank statement as evidence of sound financial status.
- Evidence of teaching staff-for purposes of smooth transition it would be good to continue with the existing staff unless there are strong reasons to change.
- A filled up application form for registration showing all particulars of the new owner.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- No changes shall be made in the establishment of any Private registered school, unless the ministry of Basic Education is notified and the particulars of the change have been recorded in the register by the ministry registrar after being approved by the GES centre.
