Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Certificate of Occupancy in Ghana, the applicant has to visit the Land Commission office in Ghana. Contact link
- The address and contact details of the Land Commission Office can be found in the link below.
- Visit the office and obtain an application form to be completed for obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy from the relevant department.
- Complete the application forms with appropriate information under the relevant sections. Attest it with the applicant’s signature once completed.
- Once completed filling the application form, make sure that the applicant attached all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
- After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
- Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the Certificate.
- When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be notified by the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.
- The certificate is issued within 20-21 days.

InstructionsEdit
- After submission, the applicant will be issued with an acknowledgement slip and an offer letter after which the applicant must proceed with fees payment.
- Then, the Applicant will be issued with Confirmation Letter with Plot and Block Number. Note that payments must be done in complete before Plot and Block are allocated.
- Then, his Excellency, the Governor signs the Certificate of Occupancy and sends file to the Land Registry for further processing which is later registered in the land registry and issued to the applicant.
