Apply In-Person:

  1. Application form for Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund in Ghana is available in the non-Profit Organization secretariat.contact link
  2. Applicant should obtain the application form from respective office.
  3. Applicant has to enter all information the application form.
  4. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents are necessary for completing this procedure.
  5. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
  6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  7. The pre-qualification application will be evaluated by the BUSAC Fund and PSOs whose concept notes are selected will be asked to submit an application / proposal for consideration. This will be after a capacity diagnostic tool has been administered and the PSO found to have the capacity to develop and implement the advocacy action. Should the PSO require the services of a consultant in preparing the application, they will be required to use consultants accredited by the BUSAC Fund. The list accredited consultants is found on our website. The use of non accredited consultants is not permitted.
  8. The assessment of the application form the application form will be assessed on-line. Therefore the application forms should be filled and submitted electronically to the designated address on line.
  9. The BUSAC Fund will acknowledge receipt of application/proposal presented by the shortlisted PSOs. Once the application is submitted by a PSO, the application will be evaluated by consultants (external to the BUSAC Fund Management Unit) who will recommend applications for approval / rejection.
  10. The external evaluators will provide reasons for rejecting proposals. These reasons will be passed on to the applicants to help them revise their proposals for subsequent calls.
  11. Applications recommended for approval will be sent to the Project Steering Committee for their evaluation and approval. Once the advocacy proposal gets approved, the PSO will be notified and requested to pay into a designated account 10% of the total cost of the advocacy action.
  12. A contract will then be executed between the PSO and the BUSAC Fund and disbursements will start, provided 10% deposit has been verified by the BUSAC Fund.
  13. The Processing time for this procedure is 60 to 90 days.

  • Trade unions and other labor markets Association.
  • Associations and Media with the Media landscape.
  • It is highlighted that association NGOs etc within civil society are not eligible for this type of funding.

  • A Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority request.



ValidityEdit

  • The initial phase of the fund will last for two and half years but can still be extended beyond that period to 5 years.

  • The purpose of the Fund is to strengthen the capacity of the private sector to advocate for improved policies, BUSAC envisaged advocacy being used to remove bottlenecks that stop the private sector from developing, improve private sector participation in developing and implementing policies as well as to allow a better understanding of the role of private sector by the general public and a better image. The main advocacy target is mostly the public administrations at public levels, including districts and community levels and also other bodies with the private sector ie Banks and the generic public
