Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for a Biometric Voter’s card in Ghana, the applicant can reach nearest electoral office (EO) and collect a copy of Form, for inclusion of name in the electoral roll. link
- Remember that you can only receive a voter's card if your name is included in the electoral list. Applicants name is automatically entered in the electoral roll when his/her turn 18 years old.
- Applicant may also voluntarily register as a voter in person, by sending the registration form and other required documents by post or mail.
- Also, make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- It is issued for free by the Government of Ghana.
- Applicant voter card will be mailed to you a year following his/her registration.
- Election year: applicant may receive your voter's card 3 days before Election Day at the latest.
- No election for the year: applicant may receive his/her voter's card July 1, at the latest.
- Immediately notify the election officials in his/her area in case there are errors in his/her card.
- Undelivered cards before the election are kept at the polling station. Applicant may recover his/her voter's card at the polling station by presenting proper identification.
- Individuals who just turned 18 may also receive their voter's card during citizenship Ghana (if his/her town is organizing this type of event.
- The processing time for this procedure takes 30 working days.

Only Ghanaian citizens who are:
- 18 years or above.
- Of a sound mind.
- Resident or ordinarily resident in an electoral area or are permitted by law to register in an electoral area.
- Not prohibited by any law in force from registering as a voter are qualified to register as voters.

- It is issued for free by the Government of Ghana.

- Valid for 5 years and then a renewal is required.

- A person can register at ordinarily residence, at the place of work.
- An applicant must not be subject to a legal inability to vote.
- Applications must be submitted in person.
- An applicant must be of a sound mind.
- Foreigners cannot obtain voters cards.
- Where you register is the place to obtain your voter card.
- You cannot Vote twice or more than one.
- Residential address or house number of your present abode.
- Registration of voters w takes place at all registration centers (polling stations) throughout the country.
- The names of your parents (dead/alive)
- Your hometown/residential address in hometown if different from present abode.
- District within which your hometown is located.

- In the face of advancing ICT trends and emerging challenges in manual voter registration, the Electoral Commission of Ghana has taken the bold decision to replace the current voters register with a biometric register for subsequent elections.
