Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Artisanal Processor/Fish mongers License in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.

- Applicant must obtain the application form from the MOFAD department.
- The applicant must fill up the application form as directed and submit it to the concerned authorities.
- The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The applicant must provide all the required documents to the authorities for validation and also pay the requisite application fees.
- Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
- Officers from the commissioner’s office will carry out inspections on the craft, fishing gear and other equipment to ensure that they comply with the required standards.
- If everything is in order they will continue to process the applicants’ application.
- After processing, the applicant will be issued with the license.
- A license or permit will be granted within 7 days.

- All Foreigners and Resident of Ghana with a Fishing pass or license are eligible.
- Foreigner tourist must have a tourist visa.

- Application Fees: GHS.10,000
- License Fee: GHS. 50,000
ValidityEdit
- A license issued under this Act is valid for one year and expire on 31 December every year.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A person is required to obtain a valid fishing license prior to fishing in inland waters or transporting fish taken from inland waters.
- A person is required to keep his/her fishing license with him/her at all times while fishing or transporting fish and must exhibit their license for inspection by any warden, department employee, guide or landowner upon request.
