Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. ToApply for Architect Registration certificate in Ghana, the applicant must go to the ministry of works and housing. Contact link
2. Information related to the MWH office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. The applicant must write an application letter stating the reason to register as an Architect in Ghana.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. The written application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the Registrar in Architects office.
6. The prescribed fee must be paid and the receipt must be attached with the application form and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Then, the registrar and board members of the Architects association will verify the application form.
8. After the verification, the Registrar of Architects association will approve the registration application of the applicant.
9. After completing the registration process, the registration certificate will be issued to the applicant.
10. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Eligibility

• The eligibility criteria to register as an Architect in Ghana will be explained clearly while making application at the Architects Association office.

• Registration Fee - $ 50.00

• The validity of the registration will be mentioned in the registration certificate issued to the applicant.

Need for the Document

• The registration documents prove that the applicant a certified and registered architect as required by Ghana law. Operation as an architect with the relevant registration documents is not encouraged in Ghana.
• Every architect should be registered in Ghana according to the Architects Acts and Legislation.
